Lawrence Gaedingwe's Story
Lawrence Gaedingwe was a Salesman & delivery driver for Premier foods. He lost his left leg in a motor vehicle accident in 2021.
Meintjes&Neethling’s team of Prosthetists consulted with Mr. Gaedingwe immediately after his amputation in order to facilitate early mobilization and to speed up the maturation process of the residual limb and to minimize the risk of Prosthetic rejection.
Mr. Gaedingwe was happy to work with the team and obtained an exceptional GAIT pattern (manner of walking) with his first test Prosthesis.
The component used is a Synergy locking liner with 621 lock, Vari-flex Low Profile Foot. The Vari-flex foot is a great option for high activity level of the patient. The Locking liner is convenient and a safe suspension method for the age and activity level of the patient.
Mr. Gaedingwe asked if we could design a leg for him that will look aesthetically pleasing but also represents his favorite car brand – Mercedes AMG Petronas. He is very happy with the outcome and the look of his new prosthesis and wears it proudly
Another great job from the team at Meintjes & Neethling Orthopaedics Inc.
